Despite UFC’s announcement to rematch Ricky Turcios and Raul Rosas Jr. at UFC Vegas 87, Turcios himself has cast doubt on the plan, calling it “FAKE NEWS” on Instagram.
The anticipated bout between Rosas Jr. and Turcios was initially scheduled for UFC Mexico City but was abruptly canceled due to Rosas Jr.’s last-second illness. Despite the last-minute cancellation, there were suggestions that the fight might be rescheduled for UFC Vegas 87.
However, Turcios took to Instagram to dispute this claim, stating that no fight contract had been signed for a new date. He further criticized Rosas Jr., accusing him of backing out of the fight moments before they were set to enter the Octagon in Mexico City, labeling it as disrespectful.

Turcios hinted at viewing Rosas Jr.’s withdrawal as a victory for himself, indicating his satisfaction with the outcome. Nevertheless, he later deleted the social media post, leaving fans uncertain about the status of the rematch.
With the situation in flux, it remains unclear whether UFC will proceed with the rematch as planned, make amends with Turcios, or select an alternate opponent. Until an official announcement is made, fans will have to wait for further updates, keeping an eye out for confirmation from both fighters, as UFC has faced criticism for announcing fights before ensuring all parties are properly locked in.
