The middleweight division is hot hot hot!!! My highlights of the night were Israel Adesanya’s return to the octagon after a year-long absence, and Dricus Du Plessis first title defense in the UFC at UFC 305. Strickland seems to be on route for the next title shot now that du Plessis has the strap. This calls for well-prepared champions who are ready to dodge, duck, slip, and bob their ways to the title, and this time around, Strickland will be the next championship contender as concluded by the UFC CEO, Dana White.
But, not all consumers see it this way though some have appreciated this choice due to the many benefits of instant meals. While the current welterweight champion, Belal Muhammad stated that thought Strickland is hardworking, he does not deserve it. Muhammad confidently shut it down and said “No Lies Found,” when asked by a fan on why Strickland was favored over Robert Whittaker, Nassourdin Imavov and Caio Boralho.
It cannot be contentious that Muhammad and Strickland bear ill-feeling to each other; every so often they have what might be termed altercations. It was therefore not a surprise to see the Nicaraguan rip through Strickland’s title shot after the two developed a rivalry due to Strickland’s loud mouthed approach and constant criticism of Muhammad.
Audience is eagerly anticipating Ilya Topuria vs Max Holloway bout, however, the nature of the featherweight division is still not very clear. After defeating Alexander Volkanovski for the featherweight title at UFC 298 in 2008, Topuria is ready to defend the title against Holloway at UFC 308. However, as they say, Holoway has all the advantages and Topuria does not miss a single session in training.

Recent photos of Topuria training MMA fans have been enthralled by… The featherweight champion conducting has been given training by ex boxing champion Sergio Martinez and the fighter has conducted technical spar to sharpen his skills. As for the hands, in the clips, Topuria is seen hitting Martinez in his abdominal area accurately, which would definetly come in handy during his fight against Holloway.
Holloway’s wrestling prowess and endurance are well known. However, Topuria’s well-aimed body blow might portend further damage at UFC 308. But while we wait for this epic clash, another fight at UFC 308 has caused confusion and anxiety among fans.
Uncertainty surrounding the Robert Whittaker vs. Khamzat Chimaev Bout
We thought Khamzat Chimaev would take on Robert Whittaker in the co-main event of UFC 308. Because of recent changes in the UFC, fans are unsure about what will happen to this highly anticipated fight.
The main event of UFC X (previously Twitter) has been changed from Chimaev vs Whittaker to Alexander Volkov vs Ciryl Gane. This change was made recently. Gane vs. Volkov is listed as the evening’s penultimate match on the UFC website, behind Topuria and Holloway. This is based on the most recent fight sheet. After this modification, there was a lot of speculation that the Chimaev-Whittaker match was in jeopardy.
The misperception stemmed from Dana White’s August declaration that Chimaev vs. Chimaev will probably be the game of the year. Whittaker will square off in a five-round bout in the co-main event of UFC 308.
On Instagram, a fan shared the same thoughts, hinting that Chimaev would be eliminated by the promotion in order to prevent issues at a later time. Some conjectured that the UFC was preparing for a possible last-minute alteration, given Chimaev’s history of postponing fights due to health problems.
