Muhammad dominated the whole battle, as evidenced by the unanimous decision that terminated the contest. Prior to this loss, Leon Edwards held the title of welterweight champion, but he now has competition to win it back. Recently, Edwards’ coach, Dave Lovell, offered his perspectives on his ascent to the top. Lovell said in an open interview with “Submission Radio” that although making amends with Muhammad is a long-term objective, it might not occur right away. Edwards won’t have another opportunity to defend his championship unless he can handle the intense competition of the up-and-coming competitors, according to Lovell’s remarks.

Edwards who Might not Agree

According to Lovell, Edwards’ acquisition could be facing some of the department’s rising talent. Two names have emerged as possible challengers: Ian Gary and Shavkat Rakhmonov. Lovell pointed out that these fighters could be major obstacles for Edwards. “We’re looking at a few names,” Lovell said. “Shawkat and Ian Gary should be on the radar.” Both fighters have been making waves in the welterweight division with their impressive performances, and a one-on-one fight could be an important step for Edwards as he works to reassert himself as he is the supreme competitor.

Edwards Timeline Possible Return

Lovell also offers a possible timeline for when Edwards might get another shot at the title. He suggested a reunion with Muhammad around 2025 or 2026. “Leon could meet Belal again around 2025 or 2026.” Lovell said this timeline extended for Edwards to prove his readiness through additional fights to other competitors It also reflects the need to win at the top, before a big-budget return plan is scheduled. Fans of Edwards will need to be patient as he goes through this difficult time.

Shavkat Rakhmonov: Increasing Risk

Shavkat Rakhmonov aka ‘Nomad’ is making a huge impact in the welterweight division. With an impressive record of 18-0-0 and five consecutive victories, Rakhmonov has established himself as a formidable opponent. After UFC 304, Rakhmonov expressed his desire for a title shot on social media. “I hope you keep your word and defend your title against me when you’re ready, champ,” he tweeted. Muhammad responded positively, showing that he was ready to meet any challenge. Rakhmonov’s undefeated record and aggressive fighting style make him a serious contender for a title fight in the future.

The Enduring Defiance of Muhammad

Belal Muhammad is the new welterweight champion and he is determined to keep his championship safe from any challengers. Muhammad made it plain in his post-fight press conference that he is prepared to take on anyone inside the Octagon. Muhammad asserted, “I never back down from anyone; I never accepted a fight.” “Now that I’m at the top, my goal is to establish myself as the greatest welterweight of all time.” Muhammad’s self-assurance and willingness to take on any challenge are reflections of his will to maintain his rank as the top fighter in the category.

Ian Gary: Keep an Eye on this Competitor

Another name making waves in the welterweight division is Ian Gary, who has a perfect record of 15-0. He was acknowledged as a possible title candidate due to his exceptional performance. With his impressive record and skill set, Gary is a key player in the title picture as Edwards and the other contenders set themselves for future opportunities. Fans and analysts are eager to see how Gary handles the task of determining whether he will emerge as a top contender in the welterweight division.
