Lightweight star Paddy Pimblett had already sent the crowd into a frenzy at the Co-op Live arena with a comprehensive victory at King Green, silencing his critics and yet the knockout fans crave, Tom Aspinall provided just that in his first title defence.
A Brilliant Win for Aspinall
The first two title fights at UFC 304 proved to be a happy treat for fans. With home field advantage in Manchester, Tom Aspinall stepped into the Octagon against Curtis Blades. Things turned in his favor as he not only defended his title but also avenged his only UFC loss in style. Following the win, the self-proclaimed ‘Honey Badger’ sent a short message to John Jones.
A Quick and Decisive Victory
The fight began with Curtis Blades trying to land a punch, allowing Tom Aspinall to get into the clinch. But it only took one big hit from the interim champion to knock Blades down. Aspinall took full advantage of the situation and landed several punches. Referee Mark Goddard then stopped the fight, allowing Aspinall to retain his title.
Aspinall’s Call to John Jones
After defeating Curtis Blades in just one minute, Tom Aspinall revealed he had a conversation with Dana White. “I just talked to Boss Man,” he said in the Octagon interview. Who wants to see between Tom Aspinall and Jon Jones?” The Manchester crowd erupted in excitement as their UFC rival could fight Jones in the near future.
Belief in the Future
There’s a big chance that a fight with Jon Jones could happen soon, and Aspinall seems confident about his chances against the supposed greatest of all time. “Hello, I personally have nothing against you. But I just think I’m better than you. I just know I can beat you in a fight,” the interim champion added. Aspinall isn’t the only one confident of beating Jones; Even the former rivals of the undisputed winners seem confident in the provisional winner.

Gustafsson Sides with Aspinall
Alexander Gustafson, one of the few fighters to take Jon Jones to the limit, shared his thoughts on who would win if ‘Bones’ fought Tom Aspinall. In a recent interview he tipped the interim champion to win, saying Aspinall is a much smarter fighter than Jones and could be “too much” for the supposed greatest of all time
“He’s got all the weapons to beat John. Jon hasn’t been as active, but he’s still WARNING. You can never trust this guy; he’s so freaking good at what he does. He’s handled every opponent, and everybody knows how good he is. But Aspinall now, I see him as a big threat to John,” Alexander Gustafsson told ‘Top Offshore Casinos’.
The Hope of the Fans
The score and subsequent call had fans buzzing with anticipation. Will Jon Jones accept the challenge, or will he find a way to avoid Aspinall? With Dana White hinting at the possibility of a unification fight, the MMA community is eagerly waiting to see what happens.
The stage is set for what could be one of the most exciting heavyweight clashes in recent memory. The ball is now in John Jones’ court. Will he step up to the challenge and meet the rising star, or will he step aside from the fray? The latter could redefine the future of the UFC heavyweight division.
