Sean O’Malley and Conor McGregor, for the second time now, are back in the limelight, the same bully that began after the Ryan Garcia-Devin Haney incident in May, this time the focus is on the new controversy over Ostarine, a performance-enhancing drug that has recently become the subject of discussion in the UFC circuit.
O’Malley’s Admiration Turns Sour
Conor McGregor announced that he will stop eating chicken to punish Se-ah O’Malley who described him UFC star as an idol. The aforementioned was a quote from O’Malley that was said in the early times of conflict: “I’ll forever be a massive Conor fan.” However, McGregor in his most recent incident attacked O’Malley knowing very well it was unprovoked which forced the bantamweight champion to look for elaboration. Recently, there has been a long thread from months since the enmity between O’Malley and the other fighter appeared to be slowly fading away but the latter response has fueled the fire again.

The Ostarine Controversy
In his latest shenanigan, O’Malley posted a study on his X handle that suggests that Ostarine can be transferred through sweat. This claim was first uttered in an episode devoted to his podcast. MMA performance enhancing substance specialist Jeff Novitzky provided O’Malley the study which in turn served as the spark that intensified the issue. “Suddenly, when I got a text message from Jeff Novitzky saying ‘Check this one,’ I had a heart attack I think mainly because of what he sent me — this article.”
McGregor’s Reaction
O’Malley took to Instagram to address his post and McGregor swiftly replied with a laughing emoji but he quickly deleted it. But O’Malley had definitely read it and responded with his own spin-off of McGregor. “Miss the old Conor ? you fell off bud,” O’Malley teased, “Still a fan tho,” “I don’t care you are 1-4 in your last 5, I’m still excited to watch,” “Hope the toe is feeling better.” He went further to insult McGregor, he said, “Conor isn’t in anyone’s GOAT talk, so entertainment yes, but skills no, decent striking power but shit cardio, weak BJJ, fairly mobile though mentally weak, drug addict that needs to go to rehab, 1-4 in last 5 fights, still, a fan though, hope your toe get’s better.”
A Heated Exchange
O’Malley has recently said something that McGregor has not responded to. After the harsh words exchanged, O’Malley had to admit that he could not hate McGregor as the latter was an idol to him. For in a similar vain, McGregor once said this about O’Malley McGregor, , You mean Joe Hagerty and Sean have our future in their hands and they don’t think that it is important enough to put up a fight for?
Civil Treatment During the Rivalry
As a response to McGregor’s statements about PED usage, O’Malley said: “The biggest fan, watched his career play out, watched every single interview possible. I learned a ton from him. He’s a legend.” Thus, it can be seen that even when they had public confrontations, there is still a mutual respect between the fighters.
Take for instance, McGregor, who on a live stream conversation also made it clear that he also had a liking for O’Malley. “Yeah, you know what? I’m a fan of Sean O’Malley, I mean I actually like Sean, but I saw the disrespect of that [Ryan] Garcia guy… he was similar to the situation with Sean and he was kinda thrown right into fire, he also said he’d beat me not in his dreams, but I’m a fan of Sean.”
The interaction between O’Malley and McGregor is just continuing, and it seems there will be no end to it. Diaz and McGregor have openly expressed mutual respect for each other, but their verbal attacks go viral and wouldn’t stop.
