With UFC 305 in the books, the buzz surrounding Conor McGregor’s potential return to the Octagon in 2024 has reached fever pitch. Fans and analysts are eager for any news, but ‘The Notorious’ remains strong. UFC analysts Daniel Cormier and Chael Sonnen discussed McGregor’s situation on the show, but Sonnen came up empty-handed when he said McGregor had spoken to the team.
“I spoke to McGregor’s family over the weekend. I actually went to Conor and just last night, I said, ‘Hey, you’d make me look really good if you could give me something on my show that I could use with Danielle,’” Sonnen revealed “’Finish this sentence for me. Conor McGregor wants to fight this year. Dana says it won’t happen’… I don’t get anything.”

While McGregor has remained silent, Michael Chandler, who has been mentioned as a possible challenger, has made it clear that he is not putting his career on hold to wait for the Irishman. The MMA world is left wondering if McGregor will indeed return in 2024, or if his silence is a sign of a long absence.
Tom Aspinall Slams John Jones and Dana White
Tom Aspinall has been a force in the heavyweight division, finishing 8 and 9 UFC fights. Despite his impressive record, Aspinall feels he doesn’t get the respect he deserves from UFC president Dana White and the organization. The British Indian didn’t hold back when he aired his frustration on Michael Bisping’s YouTube channel.
“I’m the best heavyweight in the world and [don’t] get credit for it. They hold the belt captive, mate. And John Jones loves it,” Aspinall said.
To Aspinall’s frustration, Dana White often praises John Jones in interviews, which he believes helps Jones avoid conflict with him “He loves the fact that Dana White manages to get better in any interview, weird the hell out, you say bantamweights etc. Dana White turns him on his back and starts talking about how good Jon Jones is,” Aspinall added.
The interim champion has made his position clear: he wants to fight Jon Jones and prove his claim as the best heavyweight. The ball is now in the court of Jones and White in response to Aspinall’s challenge.
Israel Adesanya Reflects on his ‘Max Holloway’ Moment at UFC 305
The main event of UFC 305 delivered one of the most exciting fights in recent memory. Although Israel Adesanya did not walk away victorious, there was a moment this season when fans and commentators were buzzing. During the fight, Adesanya appeared on the ground taking a shot from Dricus du Plessis, making Daniel Cormier think he was channeling his inner Max Holloway but now Adesanya has set this record straight.
“I was like shaken but like, [I] got up and walked outside and looked at him [du Plessis] and pointed down and DC goes, ‘He’s pointing down like Max Holloway, like come on here .’ No,” Adesanya explained on his YouTube channel.
Adesanya revealed that the gesture was actually a message to du Plessis, revealing that the shot did not startle him. “I told him like, ‘I’m wrong. You didn’t shake me.’ I don’t want him to think he shakes me or anything,” Adesanya explained.
Although Adesanya may have lost the battle, he has no regrets. He remains determined to stay in the title hunt, and declares that he’s not “f***ing” leaving the game anytime soon. The MMA world will be watching closely to see who Adesanya meets next on his journey back to the top.
