With UFC 305 in the books, the buzz surrounding Conor McGregor’s potential return to the Octagon in 2024 has reached fever pitch. Fans and analysts are eager for any news, but ‘The Notorious’ remains strong. UFC analysts Daniel Cormier and Chael Sonnen discussed McGregor’s situation on the show, but Sonnen came up empty-handed when he said McGregor had spoken to the team.

“I spoke to McGregor’s family over the weekend. I actually went to Conor and just last night, I said, ‘Hey, you’d make me look really good if you could give me something on my show that I could use with Danielle,’” Sonnen revealed “’Finish this sentence for me. Conor McGregor wants to fight this year. Dana says it won’t happen’… I don’t get anything.”

While McGregor has remained silent, Michael Chandler, who has been mentioned as a possible challenger, has made it clear that he is not putting his career on hold to wait for the Irishman. The MMA world is left wondering if McGregor will indeed return in 2024, or if his silence is a sign of a long absence.

Tom Aspinall Slams John Jones and Dana White

Tom Aspinall has been a force in the heavyweight division, finishing 8 and 9 UFC fights. Despite his impressive record, Aspinall feels he doesn’t get the respect he deserves from UFC president Dana White and the organization. The British Indian didn’t hold back when he aired his frustration on Michael Bisping’s YouTube channel.

“I’m the best heavyweight in the world and [don’t] get credit for it. They hold the belt captive, mate. And John Jones loves it,” Aspinall said.

To Aspinall’s frustration, Dana White often praises John Jones in interviews, which he believes helps Jones avoid conflict with him “He loves the fact that Dana White manages to get better in any interview, weird the hell out, you say bantamweights etc. Dana White turns him on his back and starts talking about how good Jon Jones is,” Aspinall added.

The interim champion has made his position clear: he wants to fight Jon Jones and prove his claim as the best heavyweight. The ball is now in the court of Jones and White in response to Aspinall’s challenge.

Israel Adesanya Reflects on his ‘Max Holloway’ Moment at UFC 305

The main event of UFC 305 delivered one of the most exciting fights in recent memory. Although Israel Adesanya did not walk away victorious, there was a moment this season when fans and commentators were buzzing. During the fight, Adesanya appeared on the ground taking a shot from Dricus du Plessis, making Daniel Cormier think he was channeling his inner Max Holloway but now Adesanya has set this record straight.

“I was like shaken but like, [I] got up and walked outside and looked at him [du Plessis] and pointed down and DC goes, ‘He’s pointing down like Max Holloway, like come on here .’ No,” Adesanya explained on his YouTube channel.

Adesanya revealed that the gesture was actually a message to du Plessis, revealing that the shot did not startle him. “I told him like, ‘I’m wrong. You didn’t shake me.’ I don’t want him to think he shakes me or anything,” Adesanya explained.

Although Adesanya may have lost the battle, he has no regrets. He remains determined to stay in the title hunt, and declares that he’s not “f***ing” leaving the game anytime soon. The MMA world will be watching closely to see who Adesanya meets next on his journey back to the top.

Next Article Dricus du Plessis finds himself in the middle of the UFC’s middleweight title picture following his impressive victory over Israel Adesanya. The South African star’s performance has left everyone wondering who will criticize next? Although Sean Strickland has made his intentions clear, UFC Hall of Famer Daniel Cormier believes that Strickland shouldn’t face any tough competition other than Khamzat Chimaev. The Return of Khamjat Chimayev Khamzat Chimaev is set to return to action in a rebooked fight with Robert Whittaker. The original planned war for Saudi Arabia has been postponed, but now the danger is higher than ever. Back-to-back winner Whittaker is also in the title mix. But if Chimaev wins, it could turn the whole title picture on its head. Daniel Cormier expressed his thoughts on the situation during his 'Good Guy/Bad Guy' episode, saying, “If Khamzat wins [against Whittaker], then you've got something to worry about, worry about yourself… that would worry me if I m a virgin Sean Strickland”. Cormier pointed out that Strickland’s confidence could be misplaced, especially if Chimaev emerges victorious. Dana White’s Uncertainty Adds to the game Sean Strickland's quest for a rematch with Du Plessis began with a narrow split decision loss to the South African at UFC 297. He returned with a win over Paulo Costa, immediately calling a rematch before UFC President Dana White hinted that the UFC 305 main event winner would make the next appearance and Strickland would give it to him. But Daniel Cormier expressed doubts about White's commitment to the issue, saying a Chimaev win could change the narrative. “When Dana talks, he can go, ‘This guy’s next’… but then there’s a tone in his voice that makes you believe what he’s saying is true. I didn’t hear that voice… I’m sure there’s room for Chimaev,” Cormier said, adding more uncertainty to an already tense situation. Dricus du Plessis Stands Behind Robert Whittaker’s Title Shot For all the speculation, Dricus du Plessis has his own opinion on who deserves a title shot next. Fresh off the biggest win of his career, du Plessis had no hesitation in naming Robert Whittaker. Du Plessis, who knocked out Whittaker at UFC 290, believes the Australian fighter has earned a spot in the title race. “Robert Whittaker deserves a shot. I think he is finishing. Whittaker beat [Paulo] Costa. Sean Strickland’s only saving grace is that he made a decision with me. That’s it,” du Plessis told a post-fight press conference. The Role of Israel Adasanya in the middle diagram Adding more excitement to the middleweight division is Israel Adesanya, who is available for a non-title fight for the first time in years. After completing two consecutive losses, Adesanya’s path to the title is not uncertain. It may need at least two solid victories to regain the top spot. If Chimaev beats Whittaker, can Dana White put Chimaev over Adesanya? Victories over Whittaker and Adesanya would almost certainly give Chimaev a title shot. Meanwhile, Strickland can still get his promised shot at du Plessis. The middleweight division is now a potential fight, with each fighter competing for his position in the spotlight.
