Sonam’s Bold Claim

Former UFC star and The Voice analyst Chael Sonnen believes Aspinall’s reign as  champion will end when Jones returns. Sonnen believes that UFC rules require the  title to be forfeited in the event that the undefeated champion fights again. “Jon Jones and Stipe went to war. Jon Jones took the microphone and said ‘I’m retiring.’ Boom! Aspinall is being promoted to the [Untitled Champion says Jon Jones.” You’ve taken the interim champion to the undisputed champion, [right]?

Conflict of Laws

Sonam cited several “government statutes” to support her claim. He argued that the law meant Aspinall would be stripped of his title when Jones stepped into the Octagon. – A hero can only be a hero if there are no heroes. And when  the bell rang for Jon Jones’ next fight, he was without a champion for a while,” Sonnen said.

However, the interpretation of this law is still controversial. In boxing, interim titles fall under the rules of the sanctioning body, but MMA promotions like the UFC do it differently. The UFC’s decision is internal and personal, meaning they could choose to keep Aspinall as interim champion even after Jones returns.

Jones Did not Want to Fight Aspinall

Despite the uproar from the fans, Jon Jones does not want to fight Tom Aspinall for the heavyweight title.  MMA expert Luke Thomas reports that UFC President Dana White has not approved Jones’ fight against Aspinall.

Fans and UFC officials  are not happy about the problem. This match is one of the biggest events of the year to be held at Madison Square Garden.  Jon Jones’ former fighter, Daniel Cormier, has voiced his opposition to the pairing of Jones and Miocic. Compared to Aspinall’s youth and strength, Cormier believes Miocic is old, out of strength and not a good opponent. The most significant and challenging match to date is Tom Aspinall vs. Jon Jones. “I don’t know if it’s Jon Jones or Stipe Miocic at this point,” stated Cormier.

Aspinall’s Ascent

The journey of Tom Aspinall to the UFC has been nothing short of extraordinary. At UFC 295, he defeated Sergei Pavlovich to record a historic victory. Aspinall defeated Pavlovich in just sixty-nine seconds to win the interim heavyweight title in spectacular fashion. The win gave him even more confidence in Jones.

Jones was forced to pull out of the first scheduled fight between Miocic and Jones at UFC 295 due to a torn right pectoral muscle. This match is one of the biggest events of the year to be held at Madison Square Garden.  After Jones’ injury, Aspinall stepped in to fight Pavlovic for the interim title, and his performances since then have dimmed Jones’ hopes of facing Miocic.

Touch Reaction

The MMA community is divided. Many fans believe Jones should face Aspinall when he returns to  unify the heavyweight division. Jones vs. Jones is exciting Miocic’s form has dipped, especially after Aspinall’s dominant display. Fans and analysts believe Aspinall’s rise and the former prospect of the undisputed champion heading into the short-term championship will be a better story.

However, Jones and Dana White appear to be strong against Miocic. The decision did not satisfy the fans, who wanted the surprise and rivalry that the Jones-Aspinall match would bring. way forward

The upcoming fight between Jones and Miocic is being billed as the “GOAT Fight” and is  expected to be a major event. However, the future of the heavyweight division depends on what happens next. If Jones wins and retires, Aspinall will become the undefeated champion. If Jones continues to play, the pressure will increase on Aspinall.

The performance of the heavyweight division will be closely watched. Aspinall’s status, the outcome of his upcoming fight, and the decision within the UFC will shape the future. Fans want a clear solution that respects competition and merit.
