Former UFC Lightweight Champion, Khabib Nurmagomedov, Explores Makkah’s Rich Culture
The Hira Cultural District in Makkah recently welcomed a distinguished visitor – none other than Russia’s former UFC lightweight champion, Khabib Nurmagomedov. Known for his unparalleled dominance in the octagon from April 2018 to March 2021, Khabib embarked on a journey through the Revelation Gallery, situated within the expansive district adjacent to the esteemed Jabal Al-Nour.
Spanning an impressive 67,000 square meters, the Hira Cultural District is a testament to Makkah’s cultural vibrancy and historical significance. During his visit, Khabib was captivated by the immersive experience offered by the Revelation Gallery, acknowledging the exceptional quality of the exhibition.
Beyond the gallery, the district boasts a diverse array of attractions, including the Museum of the Holy Qur’an, Saudi Coffee Museum, Cultural Library, and more. The tranquil Hira Garden, nestled within the district, provides a serene retreat, while the Hira Cabins mountain resort offers panoramic views of Jabal Al-Nour, complemented by luxurious amenities.
A notable highlight of the district is the Cave of Hira, a sacred site where the first Qur’anic revelation was bestowed upon Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). Accessible via a paved road leading from the mountain’s base, the cave holds profound religious significance for Muslims worldwide.
In a statement, Nurmagomedov expressed his appreciation for Saudi Arabia’s commitment to enriching the cultural and religious experiences of pilgrims, Umrah performers, and visitors alike. His visit serves as a testament to the enduring allure of Makkah’s cultural heritage and its profound impact on individuals from diverse backgrounds.
