Rules and regulations are important in mixed martial arts (MMA) because they determine competitive dynamics and protect competitors. UFC Challenge Rulebook:

On the latest episode of a show, Joe Rogan and Royce Gracie dive into the topic of long-running MMA competition. Rogan said he believes the UFC rulebook favors fighters because of the five-minute round format. Rogan compared it to Pride FC, a Japanese MMA organization  known for its unique rules, saying the longer rounds make for more balanced and strategic fights.

Gracie also shared Rogan’s thoughts on pushing for more playing time for the Pride Football Club. He suggested that each round should last 15 minutes, adding that it would give the boxers more time to execute their game plans and showcase their skills in various disciplines. Their vision challenged the status quo and reignited discussions about  UFC rule changes.

Previous Objections and controversies:

Rogan’s criticim of the UFC rulebook is not unprecedented. In a previous podcast appearance, he criticized what he called a “compound” rule in MMA – the “12 to 6 punch” limit. The rules surrounding this type of  fight are the subject of debate among boxers and observers, with many questioning the effectiveness and efficiency of defending the champion.

Additionally, Rogan’s comments about the difference in fight length between Pride FC and UFC highlight broader concerns about balance and fairness in MMA rules. Gracie’s support for  longer fights adds to Rogan’s argument and changes the UFC rulebook  in the future.

Call for Updates and Community Response:

Discussions between Rogan and Gracie have sparked controversy in the MMA community, with fans, enthusiasts and analysts weighing in on the merits of a prolonged fight and possible changes to the UFC’s rules. . While some expressed doubts about the effectiveness of implementing 15-minute bullets, others welcomed the idea to encourage strategic and forceful combat.

The comments also questioned other aspects of the UFC rulebook, including scoring criteria, weight cut requirements and the use of quick kicks. As stakeholders continue to wrestle with these complex issues, demands for transparency, equality and player safety are at the center of the debate.

Looking to the Future:

In the dynamic world of mixed martial arts (MMA), discussions about guidelines and policies remain an important topic. The UFC has worked hard to adjust its rules over the years, but they still need to be improved to meet the changing needs of the sport in terms of safety and other factors.

Joe Rogan and Royce Gracie began to share stories about their battles over the years, more about the progress of MMA. By supporting the longer game, they encourage society to think about the balance between fairness, safety and fair play in sports. Their voices sparked a conversation in the MMA community, prompting fans to review the current rules and consider possible changes.

While it’s unclear if this will lead to real change in the UFC, the importance of their plan lies in its ability to stir conversation and reflection. The principles of Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) must be maintained and the athletes’ lives must be protected by ensuring that the rules and regulations and the sport are changed.
