The grudge match between Israel Adesanya and Dricus du Plessis in UFC 305 has become petty heading to the event. This is not a simple question of the middle class narrative; It is linked with the ambitions of Dagestan mafioso Islam Makhachev. Adding to pressure, Makhachev wants a move up to 170-pound division, there is constant debate over potential rematch with Du Plessis and overall, it’s quite dangerous.

Du Plessis and Makhachev: More tension
Dricus du Plessis was never one to avoid the spot light as far as controversy was concerned. Most recently, he fiercely criticized Islam Makhachev’s desire to perform a double as a leader. Makhachev, the current light heavyweight title holder, has also hinted at gunning for the welterweight title, a second title. But this ambition raised eyebrows within the UFC roster, particularly around du Plessis, who reckons Makhachev has similar intentions.
By the time the UFC 304 is held the attention to the Makhachev welterweight division has drawn a positive reaction from du Plessis. The relations between the two fighting forces have further deteriorated as each side gets ready for war.
Makhachev’s next step: Internal discovery It is necessary to define what is meant by internal discovery – is it a different view of internal control, is it a manifestation of internal control, or is it something new altogether?
It caused a lot of hype around who Makhachev’s next fight would be against. There are several match-ups that people on the inside of the UFC have thrown around as potential bouts, one of which is a fight with du Plessis. Makhachev’s coach Javier Mendez has also celebrated the Dagestan fighter as a multipurpose and articulate opponent. He noted that the confrontation with du Plessis will be serious and evenly positioned in all aspects, Makhachev will complement the work standing and on the floor.
However, Mendez also blessed himself of the difficulties of coming across a fighter like Adesanya, noting that the fight against the Kiwi would pose another challenge in the event that du Plessis relinquished his title to Adesanya Mendez especially noted that Adesanya is a good kickboxer which could pose big troubles to Makhachev.
People’s perceptions about the Adesanya v. Makhachev case
There has been a number of predictions amongst the UFC insiders concerning the potential foes of Makhachev. Makhachev’s training partner, Josh Thompson, also said that Adesanya can be a much better match for his compatriot. Thompson added that should Adesanya defeat du Plessis, it might become easier for Makhachev as much as it is tough to submit to Adesanya’s conditions.
John McCarthy also chimed in and said that the thing is that Adesanya at the moment is the favorite in the matchup which may make higher the profit to Makhachev of the bout. This approach results in an increase of another dimension to what can evidently be described as a ‘heated-up’ potential competition scenario as potential competition continues to emerge.
In the middleweight division, Israel Adesanya holds the title two times which shows that he has been instrumental. As such his skills and technique were well developed that put him in a position of an invincible competitor. Adesanya’s presence, confidence and leadership skills are already documented and more importantly, he is fluid inside the cage hence being a good bet to consider for Makhachev.
