Mike Perry, UFC veteran BKFC who calls himself the ‘King of Violence’ is taking a bold step in the world of combat sports promotion. Following his announcement to fight Jake Paul on July 20, Mike Perry unveiled the launch of his new organization ‘Dirty Boxing Championship’ at a press conference in Tampa.
‘Dirty Boxing Championship’ is an effort between Perry, his team of ‘First Round Management,’ former ‘Karate Combat’ boss Adam Kovacs, and ‘Josh McLean of Kanpai Media’ shared, “This promotion has been continuing to build work for more than a year. We started this because of my success in boxing and we wanted to bring something new and exciting to the world of combat sports.”
Displaying a Special Rule
The promotion’s new rules are designed to blend boxing and MMA, creating a unique fighting experience. Fights will follow boxing rules but will use 5-ounce gloves. In addition to traditional kicks, the rules allow elbows, freehands, and grounds and pounds on downed opponents. However, it is strictly forbidden to try to fight back and intervene. The boxing will take place in a small 18-foot boxing ring where three 3-minute matches are contested. Ground and pound will only be allowed if the fighter remains on both feet, raising questions about how grappling will be defined and enforced.

Mixed Reactions from Fans
The announcement has drawn criticism from fighting game fans. Some fans are interested but confused by the new rules, especially the loose combination of land and pound.
“No grappling but ground no pound? Where does authority end and where does authority begin?” One fan asked on social media.
It is also speculative how fighters with strong hitting backgrounds like Alex Pereira will fare in this format. Known for his striking prowess, Pereira can succeed in a less threatening environment.
“Alex Pereira would put up historic numbers in these promotions,” pointed out another fan.
Like the Beginning of the UFC
Many fans drew parallels between the new promotion and earlier UFC events. Ruleset recalls the no-holds-barred approach of the first UFC, though it avoids the full-blown violence and bare-knuckle brutality of those early days.
“This is just MMA with extra steps,” said one fan.
For those who prefer boxing to boxing, the Dirty Boxing Championship offers a refreshing alternative.
“Don’t worry about anything. No more cr*tch sniffing lol,” said one fan, emphasizing the appeal of the format, which focuses primarily on spanking.
Compared to Existing Increases
The new development has also been compared to existing combat organizations such as ‘Karate Combat’ which emphasizes striking with limited struggles.
“That’s basically Karate Combat lmao,” said one fan.
Another Fighting Game Experience
Mike Perry’s innovative promotion aims to combine the elements of MMA and boxing while excluding grappling and submissions. This approach has aroused interest and controversy among fans and industry insiders. With the first event expected to take place around September or October, the Dirty Boxing Championship is set to offer a new combat sports experience that could change the fighting landscape.
