Francis Ngannou’s best friend and former coworker Israel Adesanya expressed his displeasure with the UFC during the UFC 305 Countdown video, which sparked anger against the organization for its repeated attempts to remove Ngannou from its history. Dana White, the president of the UFC, has admitted full responsibility even though it turns out he was unaware of the error.
The UFC’s History of Obliterating Francis Ngannou
Since quitting the UFC, Francis Ngannou, the former heavyweight champion, has been the focus of debate. The UFC appears to have made multiple attempts to remove Ngannou off the record. The latest effort occurred during the UFC 305 Countdown video, in which Ngannou was conspicuously missing. Israel Adesanya took notice of this omission and publicly condemned the UFC’s conduct.
Nganno’s UFC past holds great significance. Following Rameau Thierry Sokoudjo, he is the second Cameroonian to be promoted. Despite his backing, the UFC is attempting to minimize his significance, and at UFC Vegas 78, Tafon Nchukwi, another Cameroonian fighter, was falsely identified as the first of his kind in the nation.
Dana White Takes Over
Dana White took a direct shot at this problem during a recent news conference for her Contender Series (DWCS). White acknowledged that until the UFC 305 Countdown video brought the omission to his notice, he was ignorant of it. He acknowledged that his candid criticism of Nganno might have affected the production team’s choice, but he accepted full responsibility for the error.
“I had no idea about it until you inquired. However, an intentional decision was made by someone in control who felt it was the correct thing to do and that it was what I and the rest of us desired, according to White. He continued by saying that it is ultimately his job as the organization’s head. “That was never something on my desk, and I was unaware of it. Since I oversee every aspect of production, I am ultimately solely responsible for the event’s occurrence. I acknowledge that I have a responsibility. Put the blame on me for that.
Israel Adesanya’s Response
Ngannou’s close friend Israel Adesanya is obviously not thrilled with what the UFC has done. “You can’t erase Francis’ legacy in the UFC,” Adesanya said at the UFC 305 press conference, expressing his disappointment. That’s a component of our past work. Though it’s history, it would be foolish to try to avoid discussing it. I know he’s currently fighting for the PFL.

Despite Nganno’s exit from the UFC, Adesanya’s remarks highlight the intense respect and friendship amongst the competitors. In addition, he emphasized the significance of honoring the accomplishments of previous winners, despite of affiliation at the time.
The Other Ngannou Chapter
Since leaving the UFC, Francis Ngannou has kept a low profile. He is now prepared to take on Renan Ferreira in his Professional Fighters League (PFL) debut, concentrating on his new boxing career. Even with the UFC’s best efforts to discredit him, Ngannou’s contributions to the sport and his achievements there are still indisputable.
Dana White’s Apology to Adesanya
An important turning point in the continuing conflict between the UFC and the former heavyweight champion was Dana White’s arrival and apology to Israel Adesanya. By taking ownership of the situation, White expressed appreciation for the legacy left by Nganno and the regard that fighters such as Adesanya had for him. Ngannou has had a lasting impact on the sport of mixed martial arts, as evidenced by the UFC’s attempts to minimize his contributions while he pursues his career outside of the organization.
