Dan “The Hangman” Hooker of New Zealand has just set his sights on an enormous opportunity in the always thrilling realm of mixed martial arts: a possible blockbuster bout with none other than Conor McGregor. Hooker isn’t wasting any time planning his next game-changing move after rising back into the top ranks of the lightweight class.

After his decisive win over Mateusz Gamrot, Hooker finds himself in a comfortable yet challenging situation. When he was at this point previously, he entered a high-stakes fight against Michael Chandler in disadvantageous circumstances, which he now acknowledges may have scuppered his momentum. However, “The Hangman” is prepared to turn things around and is searching for the big battle to put him in the running for the title.

McGregor is Open, Chandler Gets Oliveira—Hooker Pounces

Michael Chandler’s formal appointment to fight Charles Oliveira at UFC 309 opens the door for a huge battle between McGregor and someone else. After a brief break, McGregor is now without an opponent in preparation for his much awaited return. Dan Hooker steps in, a man eager to be McGregor’s next octagon dancing partner who is in the right position at the right moment.

But in the UFC world, time isn’t just luck; geography plays a role as well. Next week, Hooker and McGregor will both be in Marbella, Spain, for an alternative combat sport.

Fighting in Marbella: Business Meeting or BKFC Showdown?

Due to his ownership position in Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship (BKFC), Conor McGregor is anticipated to be present for the promotion’s October 12 event in sunny Spain. As luck would have it, Oscar Willis, a buddy and coworker from The Mac Life, who is scheduled to make his bare-knuckle fighting debut, will also be present with Hooker.

In a recent Mainevent segment on Fox Sports, Hooker alluded to his delight at the possibility of running into McGregor. Both fighters are in the same building, and Hooker is planning for a potential “chance encounter” with McGregor that might change the course of his career.

“I’m going to BKFC in Spain next week, but I know I have a big battle coming up. And, you know, Conor McGregor kind of owns the event,” Hooker said with a sly smile. “Well, hopefully I can get in touch with him before the end of next week to see if he’s interested in fighting. Never know, this might be the beginning of something very big.”

What Will Be McGregor’s Next Step: Another Setback or a Comeback to Glory?

The stakes are bigger than ever for McGregor. While his combat record has suffered recently, his brand is still unassailable. Not only would a bout against a Dan Hooker draw attention from all over the world, but it might also be McGregor’s chance to restore his reputation in the UFC.

In the meantime, Hooker is licking his lips in anticipation of a big break, and he’ll do whatever it takes, literally, to ensure that McGregor takes notice of him. Fans may witness one of the most talked-about fights of the year if McGregor accepts the bait.

A War of Attitudes and Interests

Fight fans would find Hooker’s rangy, stand-up style intriguing when combined with McGregor’s pinpoint striking. Beyond just the physical, there are significant personal and professional stakes for both men in this possible match.

For Hooker, it is an opportunity to revise his story and get closer to winning the championship. McGregor wants to demonstrate that The Notorious still has a lot of fight left in him while still being relevant. Both men are poised to experience pivotal moments in their careers, and every indication suggests that Spain will be the ideal location for this tale to take place.

Will It Take Place?

The entire globe is holding its breath. Will McGregor decide to take a different route or will Dan Hooker entice him into a bout that would rekindle his professional career? There is no doubt that anything can happen when two dominant fighters like Hooker and McGregor are in the same room, and the entire MMA community will be glued to the action.
